What liftspot.ai is

Liftspot.ai is an AI-powered gym companion app. It uses your phone's camera to identify gym equipment and suggest exercises. It logs your workouts and helps you track your training over time.

What it isn't: liftspot.ai is not a medical service, a licensed personal trainer, or a substitute for professional fitness instruction. All exercise guidance is AI-generated and informational only. Please read our Health Disclaimer.

By using liftspot.ai, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. Your account

You don't need to create an account in the traditional sense. When you first open the app, an anonymous account is automatically created and linked to your device. Your data is associated with a personal code — keep this code safe if you want to transfer your data to a new device.

You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account.

2. Using the app responsibly

You agree to:

• Use the app only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app
• Not misuse the AI scan feature or attempt to manipulate AI responses
• Take personal responsibility for your physical safety during exercise
• When using the camera scan feature, take care to avoid capturing identifiable images of other people. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the camera complies with applicable laws in your location.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this app. If you are under 16 and located in the EU, you confirm you have parental consent.

3. AI-generated content

Exercise recommendations, machine identifications, and fitness guidance in this app are generated by artificial intelligence. This content:

• May not be accurate, appropriate, or safe for your individual circumstances
• Is not reviewed by a human fitness professional before being shown to you
• Should not be followed if it causes pain, discomfort, or feels unsafe
• Is not a substitute for in-person instruction from a certified trainer

You acknowledge that AI systems can make errors and that you exercise at your own risk.

4. Shared content

If you use the workout sharing feature, your workout content becomes accessible to anyone with your share code. You retain ownership of your workout data. By sharing, you grant liftspot.ai a non-exclusive license to display that content to users who access your share code.

Do not share content that you don't have the right to share or that could harm others.

5. Intellectual property

Liftspot.ai — including the app design, source code, AI prompts, and branding — is owned by Matthew Schultz. Your workout data, scan history, and personal information remain yours.

6. Payments and subscriptions (Liftspot Pro)

Liftspot Pro is a subscription service billed monthly or annually. Payment is processed by Stripe.

• Cancellation: you may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods unless required by law.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be notified before the first charge and before each renewal.
• Free trial: if offered, a free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled.
• Price changes: we will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

LIFTSPOT.AI IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR SITUATION. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIFTSPOT.AI AND ITS DEVELOPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, LOST DATA, OR LOST REVENUE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless liftspot.ai and its developer from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

10. Arbitration and class action waiver

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of liftspot.ai will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of JAMS, not in court, except that either party may bring individual claims in small claims court. You waive the right to participate in any class action or representative proceeding.

If you don't want to be bound by this arbitration agreement, you may opt out by emailing hello@liftspot.ai within 30 days of first using the app. Your opt-out will not affect any other terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
